ARtist-Run exhibition space in the heaRt of vasa city

Fringe is a contemporary artist-run gallery specialising in bold uncompromising innovative experimental expanded moving image, alternative photography and everything that can exist on its fringes.

Alongside the exhibitions, Fringe presents a monthly series of events complementing and expanding the programming through film screenings, sound, live cinema performances, artist talks and lectures.

HOW TO FIND US

Fringe Gallery is located in the very heart of the city of Vaasa, just opposite of the railway station, in the cultural centre Funkkis. The cultural centre is a gathering space for artists, artist collectives and other creatives. Mother of the gallery is Filmverkstaden, a grassroots artist-run initiative, knowledge centre and lab dedicated to analogue film and photography. Filmverkstaden supports artists and their work by offering specialised facilities, artist residencies, hands on workshops and a myriad of events, including film screenings and expanded cinema performances.
